Good Morning everyone!
Do hope you all had a marvelous weekend! Our Sunday with it being in October was rather nice and warm, Like they say and I sincerely believe that God does have a very good sense of humor ,and He does keep us on our toes with this weather . hehe
Yesterday I got to ride along with my husband down to Lexington as he was bringing back a weanling to it`s owner that he had worked with. With the little road trip, I`ll be feeling off on my days probably for the rest of this week. But this week will fly by fast enough as it is so I won`t be dealing with it to long.
My little man and I came down with a cold over the weekend( and lucky us!it was a “man-cold”haha ) thankfully I do feel like we are hopefully nearing the end of this one ! Which always brings me to realizing how much I take for granted our health. When I start to whine about a simple cold… I realize how very blessed we are for not having real serious health problems. I know so many dear friends and relatives that do, and have their precious ones going through something terrible, and it makes me ashamed for being a big baby over a little sniffle ! It also amazes me just how these same people that have so much stress in their lives over the worries of the health of their loved ones and ,or the financial problems as well, that to meet them or talk to them you would never guess for it to be them.As they are so kind and never complain, and they will be one of the first to help another person in need! I do believe in this quote ” God sends His biggest crosses to those He holds most dear” and not only will He send those big crosses, but the graces needed to carry them. God is good.
Which makes me jump to the next realization! Which is doing the daily housework and the changing of a diaper or wiping of a little nose… That is truly where the magic is. (Yes, that sounds crazy, but give me just a second to explain) The magic or more so the graces,is doing our daily duty no matter how small or minor they may be for the greater honor and glory of God. As I myself will forget the full meaning of what my vocation consists of it is good for me to take just a moment to realize that God has so much love for all of us that He will take even the most minuscule of chores, and if we have the love behind that which we do, He showers us with so many of His gifts just for doing something as simple as sweeping a floor or picking up a toy!
And what joy we do receive from doing our duties and doing them well. That little smile you may receive if it be from your own child or helping a complete stranger in need. I don’t know about you, but getting a smile is above and beyond what I deserve in payment back for doing a service for someone. God put so much meaning into a smile.
And on that note,( because I keep losing track of my train of thought every time I think I hear the baby stirring in his bed)I best just end it on that.Good Lord knows it will probably only get more gruesome as I try to continue on with my thoughts. haha
So have a wonderful rest of your Tuesday and, Remember God makes every day with His Divine Grace, another day to become closer to Him.
Toodles!
In Our Lady of Fatima,
Beth
